If you caught the Academy Awards this past week, you probably already know that Logorama took home an Oscar for best animated short film. The film is the creation of the french collective H5—it runs 16 minutes and took a total of six years to complete. A great comment on the the corporate society we live in and it serves as a warning. Give it a download from iTunes.

More “web designers” should think along these lines. We advance the web with this kind of thinking and we make it fun. Designers need to challenge the “best practices” that are imposed on them. There is a better way.

Realmac Software make OS X applications that are elegant, intelligent, and beautiful to look at. The app that I am most excited about, is a soon-to-be-released app titled “Socialite“. From what I gather, and from the screenshots they have provided, it looks like an all-in-one desktop-based social media hub: Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and multiple Google features.
As I said this morning on Twitter—desktop social media apps are where it’s at.

I would love to get my hands on one of these. Almost all the renderings of this mythical device use OS X in the mock-ups. From what I have read, the rumoured device will run a more robust version of the iPhone OS—not (Snow) Leopard.
Regardless, when these little devices make it to market, they will be yet another hot commodity—and I could easily see how useful a device such as this would be in one’s life.

“Over the past couple of years, consumers have adopted the mobile web at a pace much faster than anybody anticipated. This shift in consumer behavior has huge implications, and it will force all of us— service providers, content owners and advertisers—to rethink our businesses before the critical mass of consumer behavior swarms us. No longer should we debate whether consumers will use mobile phones as a primary source of information and entertainment. The question is when the tipping point will happen.”

Some new output from Analogue. We were very fortunate to work with the fine folks over at TB. What we are even more proud about is the use of the TripleBogey Wireless™ Ink System in making this site a reality. Look for more collaborations in the future.
